1. Acceptance

  • Account

In order to apply for acceptance, you first have to register. Please click on "Create new account", fill in all required fields (marked with a red asterisk) and click on "Create new account". You will then receive an email with a confirmation link. (Please check your spam folder if you do not receive the email.) Please confirm your registration, set your own password after the login and click on "Save" at the bottom of the page.

  • Application for acceptance

You will find the "Application for acceptance" form in the left navigation by clicking on "My Doctorate" and selecting "Application for acceptance" in the progress tree. Please complete the form filling in all required fields (marked with a red asterisk) on all tabs. Please save your content regularly. It will not be saved automatically. To edit your content after saving, please click "Edit". You can edit your content any number of times.

Upload files

Please upload all necessary files and be aware that only non-encrypted files smaller than 5 megabytes can be uploaded.

Submission of the form

Please click on the button "Submit", which you will find below the form in the "Edit" mode. Your registration can only be submitted if all required fields have been filled in. After submission of your application it is no longer possible to edit it. You will receive an automatic confirmation of submission by email.

Further steps
As soon as your application has been checked, you will receive an email informing you that you can pick up the acceptance letter and documents for matriculation at the Dean's Office by presenting all required documents (opening hours: https://www.mathematik-informatik-statistik.uni-muenchen.de/fakultaet/kontakt/).

Please be aware that registration (matriculation) as a doctoral student by the Office of the Registrar (Studentenkanzlei) or the International Office requires further steps. Please note the information provided by the homepages of the Studentenkanzlei (for "Bildungsinländer") or the International Office (for "Bildungsausländer"/foreign students). 

 

2. Doctoral examination

  • Registration for the doctoral committee
    If you plan to submit your dissertation, you must first fill in the "Registration for the doctoral committee". You will find it in the progress tree by clicking on "My Doctorate" in the left navigation. Please complete the form filling in all required fields (marked with a red asterisk) on all tabs. Please save your content regularly. It will not be saved automatically. To edit your content after saving, please click "Edit". You can edit your content any number of times.

Upload files

Please upload all necessary files and be aware that only non-encrypted files smaller than 5 megabytes can be uploaded.

Submission of the form

Please click on the button "Submit", which you will find below the form in the "Edit" mode. The form can only be submitted if all required fields have been filled in. After submission of the form it is no longer possible to edit it. You will receive an automatic confirmation of submission by email.

Further steps

As soon as your doctoral committee has been appointed, you will receive a message by the Dean's Office.

  • Submission of the dissertation
    Once your doctoral committee has been appointed, you can fill in the form "Submission of the dissertation". You will find it in the progress tree by clicking on "My Doctorate" in the left navigation. Please complete the form filling in all required fields (marked with a red asterisk) on all tabs. Please save your content regularly. It will not be saved automatically. To edit your content after saving, please click "Edit". You can edit your content any number of times.

Upload files

Please upload all necessary files and be aware that only non-encrypted files smaller than 5 megabytes can be uploaded (dissertation: 25 megabytes; if your file is larger than 25 megabytes, please contact the Dean's office.) .

Submission of the form

Please click on the button "Submit", which you will find below the form in the "Edit" mode. The form can only be submitted if all required fields have been filled in. After submission of the form it is no longer possible to edit it. You will receive an automatic confirmation of submission by email.

Further steps

Please print the complete PDF of the form and sign it (you will find the PDF in the menu item "My Doctorate"). Submit it to the Dean's office together with 3 to 4 copies of your dissertation (number of "Berichterstatter/innen" + 1) (opening hours: https://www.mathematik-informatik-statistik.uni-muenchen.de/fakultaet/kontakt/).

 

3. Publication of dissertation

Once you have printed your "Pflichtexemplare", please download the form "Bestätigung Pflichtexemplare" (you will find the PDF in the menu item "My Doctorate") and have it signed by your supervisor. When you submit your "Pflichtexemplare" to the University Library, you will receive a confirmation of submission. Please submit the "Bestätigung Pflichtexemplare" as well as the confirmation from the University Library to the Dean's Office.
